Light Gauge Framing Operation NE Ohio
February 2017 / Operational Diagnostic – Light Gauge Framing Operation NE Ohio
Xcelencia was engaged by investors in a NE Ohio light gauge framing operation to conduct an operational diagnostic of their manufacturing operations. The company had been forfeiting sales opportunities due to its manufacturing capacity limitations. Xcelencia’s challenge was to develop a plan to expand the company’s manufacturing capacity sufficient to support their anticipated sales growth. Xcelencia’s diagnostic provided the footprint to streamline their E2E panel process through the use of LEAN concepts and principles, resulting in an increase of production capacity of 74% utilizing the same labor force, while doubling their gross profit. The additional production capacity provided enough scalability to cover their anticipated sales growth of 30% and beyond.
Through Xcelencia’s vast practical experience and knowledge in transitioning companies to a LEAN continuous improvement culture, this client was presented with a clear, realistic and practical implementation plan to successfully transition their operations within a 6 month period.
LEAN Implementation at
Entegra Signature Structures
Swan Hill, Victoria, Australia
May 2017 / ELEAN Implementation at Entegra Signature Structures – Swan Hill, Victoria, Australia
In May 2017 Xcelencia conducted the first of two phases of the LEAN Implementation Project for Entegra to improve their E2E Truss fabrication process & capacity in order to meet a +70% increase in demand while also improving their profitability at their new manufacturing facility.
Entegra Signature Structures delivers a diverse range of high quality steel structures that offer the best in aesthetic style and durable functionality. Their Signature Structures include Equine Arenas, Hay Sheds, Machinery Sheds, Horticulture Buildings, Industrial Buildings and Covered Outdoor Learning Areas.
In the first phase, Xcelencia collaborated with key Entegra personnel to identify high impact opportunities, and led the development of a detailed current state value stream map of Entegra’s E2E order receipt to shipment process. Brainstorming sessions uncovered ways to eliminate bottlenecks and non-value added activities that were addressed in the future state value stream map, which outlined the footprint for the new and improved process. Innovative new equipment designs were conceived to reduce material handling of large, heavy steel components, and the concept of a continuous flow production process was developed during this phase. Phase Two will involve finalizing equipment design details, and implementation of the Future State. The overall impact of Xcelencia’s process improvement recommendations are expected to double production capacity utilizing same labor force, while more than satisfying the +70% increase in demand in a sustainable manner which will support future profitable growth.

June 2017 / Xcelencia’s presentation to Economic Development Network Event– Swan Hill, Victoria Australia
On June 5, 2017 over 20 local business people gathered at the Swan Hill Town Hall for an exclusive networking event, hearing from world renowned experts in the field of business management improvement and sustainability.
Guest speakers from Xcelencia Solutions traveled all the way from the United States to entertain and inform attendees on an array of topics and discussions, focusing on world business practices and operation methods. Consultants from Xcelencia have gained years of experience in supply chain and the manufacturing sector for global companies such as GE, Motorola, Lenovo and Ernst & Young through to smaller rural businesses. The networking session highlighted and illustrated ways small to medium size businesses can reduce their operating costs, improve their operations and increase their efficiency and capacity, so as to remain competitive and vibrant in today’s global economy.
Council’s Economic and Community Development Manager Emma Crameri said it was extremely fortunate to secure both guest speakers for the one off special event. Ms Crameri added that a real benefit of the night session was the way Xcelencia was able to relate and provide relevant examples and case studies on how businesses can improve their own operations. “Xcelencia is in Swan Hill actively working as a consultant with one of our larger manufacturing firms.” Ms Cameri said.“It was fantastic and a very generous gesture from this local business to allow us to highlight Xcelencia’s visit to the Swan Hill region and share their findings and theories to those in attendance.
“From a Council and Economic Development Unit point of view, these information and network opportunities are invaluable, as they allow like-minded businesses to connect, discover new ideas and extend a network that assists future growth and development.”
